What are some Brain Testing Pc Games for adult/parents?

I am looking for a present for my boyfriend’s mom. We came up with the idea of getting her games. She really likes sudoku and word puzzles. His family has already given her Hand Held Games for sudoku. She also often plays online card games.We were thinking of getting her a DS and games like Brain Academy, etc. However, being poor college students, this is out of our own budget.
